One question that I have been posed a few times is regarding the authenticity of Quran’s text on this site. While this question applies to all texts, it is most important in case of Quran’s original Arabic text.
Originally, the text used for the previous site (searchquran.org) was taken randomly from a digitized copy of the Quran, and thus may not have been accurate. However, from the first day, islamitexts.org was launched with the text taken from http://www.tanzil.info – a project dedicated to developing an accurate digital text of Quran that matches the actual copies of the Quran. They perform multi-faceted verification to assure the accuracy of the text.
Our aim is to make sure that the texts we present are authentic to the point that they can be quoted, and original texts can be picked up for verification if needed by researchers. While we are not there yet with all the texts, but keep tuned to find out more about the authenticity of other texts.
Best wishes for all the readers!
